Ragusa mourns Vittorio Schininà, founder of the provincial Avis: “He dedicated much of his life to helping others”

One of the founders of the local Avis in Ragusa, Vittorio Schininà, has passed away. He is described as a great figure and a reference point for blood donors since 1978, when he co-founded the association with twenty-eight other members. In 2010, he was named a Knight of the Republic by Giorgio Napolitano, which brought recognition to his daily acts of solidarity towards the community. His passing has saddened all who knew and respected him, including the Avis of Ragusa. The organization described him as an extraordinary person, a volunteer, and a respected leader who devoted much of his life to promoting blood donation and values of solidarity and volunteerism. The funeral will take place today, May 9, in the morning at the Church of the Santissima Annunziata in Ragusa.
