The powder keg exploded due to a note signed by all the associations of the professional training entities of Sicily sent at 11:30 pm on Wednesday, May 15, just 10 hours before the decisive summit. It is an act of mistrust towards the regional assessor Mimmo Turano. The sector symbols refused, yesterday, to sit at the table with him to address the crisis that is blocking funding and asked the President of the Region Renato Schifani to take on the dispute. He, the Lega assessor and candidate for the European elections, used all the diplomacy of the former Christian Democrat to comment on the situation: “They attack me during the election campaign on things that do not depend on me.” Schifani yesterday took his time. He did not explicitly defend the assessor, with whom there have been disagreements in the past on the sector’s management, but added that he wants to assess the situation with him and only then decide whether or not to convene entities and unions at Palazzo d’Orleans. A move that would sound like a commissioner for Turano.
