Problems at Catania airport: 5 flights redirected to Palermo due to a Boeing malfunction
A technical fault in a Ryanair aircraft caused delays at Catania airport, resulting in five incoming flights being diverted to Palermo. Passengers from Istanbul, Milan, Warsaw, Paris, and Vienna arrived at Falcone-Borsellino airport. Two other flights from Milan and Perugia were redirected to Lamezia Terme airport. The fault occurred on a Boeing heading to Bologna. This incident adds to the recent disruptions at Catania airport due to a major fire that caused significant damage to the main terminal on July 16th.
