Pregnancy cannot hinder access to employment: readmitted to the Canicattì specialized competition

#Caltanissetta
The Administrative Justice Council has overturned the exclusion of a pregnant doctor from a competition for a medical position. The doctor had applied for a competition for 192 medical positions, with six specifically for ophthalmology. However, she was excluded from the competition because she did not meet the requirement of being enrolled in the third year of her specialization course due to her maternity leave from October 2022 to March 2023. Her lawyers argued that the exclusion was illegitimate as it violated maternity protection laws. The Council agreed and annulled the exclusion, allowing the doctor to be included in the competition ranking.
