Pope Francis’ Blessing to the Church of Noto

Explanation of the article:
Pope Francis’s blessing to the Netina Church. It is through a message of good wishes addressed to the bishop of Noto, Monsignor Salvatore Rumeo (in the photo), that the Holy Father addressed the entire diocesan community.
The message, on the occasion of the 180th anniversary of the foundation of the Diocese of Noto established on May 15, 1844.
Pope Bergoglio, addressing Bishop Rumeo, exhorted the diocesan community “to remember the past, not to remain trapped in it, but to find in it the strength to live the present with courage and the ability to look to the future with hope.”
The Holy Father, between the lines of his letter, also recommended that this celebratory moment “could stimulate the journey of faith and evangelical testimony” and relaunched the pastoral commitment “aimed at addressing the various forms of poverty present in the territory, spending with tender proximity and concrete love in favor of those on the margins of society.”
Pope Bergoglio’s message of good wishes, recalling how “the Church of Noto is rich in witnesses of the Gospel,” concludes with a quote dedicated to the venerable Giorgio La Pira and to many priests “who over the years have given themselves for the Kingdom of God.” And, looking to their example, he then hoped for a renewed path for the Diocese, so that all become “increasingly instruments of goodness and fraternity, open to dialogue with all.”
