In Panarea, the electric ambulance is still not working, and last night on the Eolian island another rescue operation took place with an electric vehicle. A young man from Singapore was riding a bicycle in the Drautto area when he fell, and volunteers led by Gianpiero Spanò, assisted by the spouses Antonella Basile and Antonello Contartese, quickly intervened with a private electric vehicle. The doctor on the island, after the initial examination, diagnosed a suspected head injury, with blood loss from the face and various bruises on the body.
He requested the intervention of the helicopter rescue and was hospitalized at Papardo in Messina. Protests are erupting among the islanders, as this is already the fourth rescue operation in the last few months using makeshift means: in addition to electric vehicles, private motoapes have been used, always made available by the residents.
