Palma di Montechiaro disfigures husband, falsely accuses him: now released on house arrest
Silvana Sfortuna, the woman from Palma di Montechiaro who attacked and disfigured her husband with acid, simulating an attack against herself and falsely accusing him, has been released from prison two weeks after being sentenced to 8 years in prison. The judge of the Agrigento court, Giuseppe Miceli, sentenced her to 8 years in prison following a fast-track trial on October 7th. However, due to the time passed, cooperative behavior during the trial, and the conclusion of the first-degree trial, her prison sentence has been replaced with house arrest with an electronic bracelet. Her husband, who suffered serious injuries and is seeking damages, has been granted 25,000 euros in advance compensation.
