Palermo nurse attacked by father of newborn.
Another attack on a healthcare worker in Palermo. This time, it was a nurse at the Cervello hospital working in the neonatal intensive care unit who was targeted. The woman was pushed to the ground by a parent of a young patient and had to seek medical attention. Other healthcare workers intervened to stop the attacker, and another nurse had her glasses damaged.
“The situation has now deteriorated – denounce the union representatives – not a day goes by without incidents of violence. At this rate, it will soon become increasingly difficult to find healthcare workers willing to do this job given the conditions of absolute insecurity. What happened today is yet another sign for the authorities to urgently take extreme measures to deter these absurd moments of violence in hospitals.”
