Palermo mourns the death of Father Cataldo Migliazzo, renowned exorcist in Sicily.

Father Cataldo Migliazzo, known as Padre Cataldo, has passed away at the age of 85 in Palermo. He was a Franciscan and originally from Gangi, in the Madonie region of Sicily. Father Cataldo was an exorcist for over twenty years and was well-known not only in Sicily but also elsewhere. His body is currently at the Sant’Antonio convent in Bagheria. He was featured in the documentary “Liberami” by director Federica Di Giacomo, which was produced by Rai Cinema and won the Orizzonti section at the 73rd Venice International Film Festival. Father Cataldo believed that exorcism was more common than people think and that many families seek the help of the Church. The city of Gangi expressed its condolences for the loss of their fellow citizen. The funeral will be held on Monday, October 9th at the church of Monte.
