Palermo, Felipe VI and Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa enchanted by the charm of Martorana

#Palermo
During the Cotec d’Europa Symposium, King Felipe VI of Spain and President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa of Portugal found time to take a tour of the city. Accompanied by the host, President Sergio Mattarella of Italy, and urban regeneration councilor Maurizio Carta, the heads of state also visited the San Nicolò dei Greci church, known as the Martorana. They were impressed by the beauty of the church, which is a reference point for the Arbereshe community and has been a UNESCO heritage site since 2015. The church is known for its fusion of different cultures and artistic styles. This visit was highly appreciated by the president of Italy and the parochial priest of Martorana.
