Pachino: Drug control operations in the buildings of Cappellini Street result in one arrest and four reported.

This morning, approximately 90 carabinieri carried out searches in seven housing complexes in Pachino, Sicily. The operation aimed to find weapons and drugs, as part of a series of high-impact services conducted by the provincial command of Syracuse in the last two years. During the operation, a 29-year-old woman was arrested for possession of 35 grams of hashish and €1,800 in cash. Four other individuals were reported for possession of cocaine, crack, hashish, and methadone, with over €500 in cash seized. Two individuals were also reported for illegal possession of weapons and receiving stolen goods. The search also uncovered approximately 2 grams of cocaine and several exploded homemade fireworks in the common areas of the buildings. Additionally, 33 illegal electricity connections were found and the owners were reported for theft of electrical energy. The operation was carried out by the carabinieri from Noto, with support from colleagues in Augusta and Syracuse, the Sicilian Hunters, the Canine Unit of Nicolosi, and personnel from the electricity provider.
