Norway wins Melges 32 Grand Prix in Palermo with Vela

The Norwegian flag is always waving on the highest step of the podium at the Melges 32 regattas that took place from Thursday to today at the Circolo Velico Sferracavallo. Just like in the first Melges 32 Grand Prix of the season, held at the end of April at the Sferracavallo racecourse, the winning signature is once again that of owner-helmsman Lasse Petterson. The Pippa 2 team confirms once again its status as the crew to beat and the fastest boat in all conditions, continuing its winning streak that dates back to the last two seasons with the titles of Melges 32 Series Champion in 2023 and Melges 32 World Champion in 2022.

Pippa 2’s success was built entirely yesterday with a show of strength (three firsts out of three races) that broke any resistance from the competitors. Pippa 2 (pt.11) by Lasse Petterson therefore precedes on the final podium the Hungarian Farfallina by Arpad Schatz (pt. 17) and Wilma by Fritz Homann (pt.25). The German Heat by Max Augustin (pt. 28) and the first of the Italians RA by Cesare dell’Aria (pt. 28) complete the top five.
