New film on Dante Alighieri being filmed in Palermo; changes to traffic patterns explained

New changes in traffic are expected in Palermo for the filming of a movie, with the Sicilian capital becoming increasingly prominent in the choices of directors and producers for their works. The film, titled “In the hand of Dante”, is directed by Julian Schnabel and stars Oscar Isaac. In addition to Palermo, the film will be shot in various locations in Italy, including Verona, Rome, and Florence. The city of Palermo continues to be chosen by directors, with areas of the historic center and the port being used as locations, as well as Partanna. The mobility office of the Municipality has issued an ordinance stating that there will be changes in traffic in those areas from October 19th to October 26th. Specifically, there will be parking restrictions in Piazza Marina, Steri side, between Corso Vittorio Emanuele and Via del IV Aprile from 1:00 pm on October 19th to 7:00 pm on October 20th. There will also be restrictions in Via Alessandro Volta, the entire stretch, from 5:00 pm on October 23rd to 5:00 pm on October 24th, and in Via Galileo Ferraris from 5:00 pm on October 23rd to 5:00 pm on October 24th. Additionally, there will be a ban in the courtyard of Gancia, in front of the entrance of the State Archive, from 6:00 am on October 18th to 6:00 pm on October 21st, and in Via Atlante, between Civic 8 and Via Catalano, from 5:00 pm on October 19th to 6:00 am on October 24th. Lastly, there will be a ban in Viale Aiace, between Civic 19 and Via Diomede, from 6:00 am on October 20th to 6:00 am on October 24th.
