Navy Subordinate dies in accident in Pozzallo, city mourns: “Tragic Moment”

Pozzallo is in shock after the death of Luca Barone, a 42-year-old navy officer who lost his battle at the Cannizzaro Hospital in Catania after a 12-day struggle following a terrible road accident. Barone leaves behind a wife and two children, one of whom is a basketball player for the Azzurra team. The team has expressed their condolences and the town of Pozzallo has also remembered Barone’s life. The accident occurred on June 17 along the Pozzallo-Santa Maria del Focallo road, when Barone’s motorcycle collided with a Toyota Yaris. Despite efforts by doctors, Barone succumbed to his injuries.
