Naro ranks tenth in Borgo dei Borghi, last Sicilian victory in 2018

Naro, the only Sicilian town to participate in this edition of the Village of Villages, ranked tenth. The final of the eleventh edition was won by Peccioli, in Tuscany, which prevailed over the other 19 villages. Twenty villages are in fact participating in the challenge, representing as many regions and territories rich in history, tradition, and culinary art.

The last success of a Sicilian village dates back to 2018 when Petralia Soprana won the ranking. Last year, instead, Salemi, in the province of Trapani, placed third.

“The town of Naro, a medieval and baroque jewel located in the province of Agrigento, the only Sicilian village in the competition, ranked in the top 10 of the Borgo dei Borghi 2024 award, a competition related to the homonymous Rai transmission. Thanks to everyone for sharing this beautiful experience aimed at promoting our territory. Congratulations to the winning village and all the other villages that participated,” wrote Maria Grazia Brandara on Facebook, immediately after the winner was announced.
