Motorist acquitted on appeal after spitting on two female police officers in Castelvetrano

#Trapani
Francesco Salvatore Catalano, a man from Mazara del Vallo, has been acquitted on appeal because the offense does not exist. In 2018, Catalano parked his BMW in a space reserved for municipal police in Castelvetrano and was fined by two female officers. He was caught on video spitting at and insulting the officers with sexist remarks. In the first trial, Catalano was sentenced to 6 months in prison for contempt of a public official and ordered to pay damages to the officers. However, he has now been acquitted on appeal with the defense of lawyer Giovanna D’Angelo.
