A mother from Marsala reported her 22-year-old daughter’s boyfriend for stalking, citing months of psychological abuse. The boyfriend was controlling, jealous, and even encouraged the teenager to commit suicide. He also prevented her from spending time with her friends and family, resulting in the girl experiencing constant anxiety and eventually needing urgent medical attention due to a crisis. The 22-year-old has been banned from approaching the victim and must wear an electronic bracelet, and the teenager also has to follow certain legal instructions. The mother, who herself was threatened by the boyfriend, decided to report the situation to the police after observing her daughter’s deteriorating mental health and academic performance. The school principal and text messages from the boyfriend supported the mother’s claims. The mother expressed that she felt it was her duty to intervene and report the abuse, as she could not bear to see her daughter in such a vulnerable and unhealthy state.
