Monreale attempts to sell stolen drill to carabinieri: reported

The carabinieri of the mobile section of Monreale reported a 54-year-old man from Palermo, who was already subject to the obligation of appearing before the judicial police and the ban on residing in Palermo, on charges of receiving stolen goods and theft.

The man thought he could make a deal when, a few days ago, in Pioppo, he approached an off-duty carabiniere who was walking down the street and tried to sell him a used drill, as he likely did with other passersby in the past.

Aware that behind these impromptu street sales often hide other illegal activities, the carabiniere immediately identified himself, stopped the man, and alerted a patrol of the mobile section, which promptly intervened on the spot.

Further investigations by the carabinieri also revealed that the suspect was unable to provide a plausible explanation for the origin of the drill. Moreover, during the search of his home, the military found an illegal connection to the electrical network.
