Mineo arrested for assaulting mother over drug money

A 22-year-old man in Ramacca, Italy has been arrested by Carabinieri officers for aggravated extortion, personal injuries, and domestic abuse. The police were called to the house of the man’s 62-year-old mother in Mineo after neighbors reported a disturbance. Upon arrival, they heard the man arguing with the woman and then a loud commotion. The police questioned the man and found the mother in a confused state with a swollen left eye and bruises. The investigation revealed that the man had physically assaulted and threatened his mother, as well as stolen 100 euros from her. The victim was hospitalized and the man was placed under house arrest pending official charges.
