Migrants rescued by Ocean Viking transferred to hospitals in Agrigento and Palermo

The two migrants who were aboard the Ocean Viking ship, who were evacuated yesterday due to serious health problems, were picked up by a Coast Guard helicopter and transported to Lampedusa. Waiting for them were an ambulance from the 118 emergency service on the island and an ambulance from the Asp polyclinic where they were immediately transported due to their critical conditions. They were intubated, stabilized, and transferred, one to the intensive care unit of the hospital in Agrigento and the other to the intensive care unit of Ingrassia in Palermo. The operation was coordinated by the 118 emergency service of the Civico hospital.
