Micciché: Agrigento will become the capital of culture and dialogue.

In 2025, Agrigento will be the Capital of Culture. The mayor, Francesco Micciché, spoke at a debate organized by the Symbola Foundation on the subject of capital cities of culture. He explained that they had previously applied twice, focusing on the Valley of the Temples, but were unsuccessful. This time, they wanted to promote a more dynamic cultural dialogue by emphasizing inclusivity, including migrants and highlighting the province’s heritage, including Lampedusa. One of their projects is the creation of a city museum, to encourage tourists to experience the historic center before visiting the Valley of the Temples.
