Messina police celebration mural vandalized

Vandalism occurred overnight against the mural on Viale Giostra in Messina, created by students of the Basile Art High School for Police Day. The mayor of Messina, Federico Basile, described it as a serious act that goes beyond vandalism. The defacing of the artwork, which depicts the Italian flag and a police officer alongside citizens of various ages, conveying a message of dialogue between law enforcement and the community, is unacceptable. The mayor stressed the need to promote a sense of civic responsibility in schools and families to combat such visible disregard for the rules.
