Messina: Italian government delivers two ships to the Libyan coast guard

As part of the EU project “Support to integrated Border and Migration Management in Libya Sibmmil,” two naval units called “Class Currubia” were delivered to the Libyan Coast Guard technical delegation at the Military Arsenal in Messina. The two boats, which were refurbished by the Defense Industries Agency, are part of a technical agreement between the Ministry of the Interior – Department of Public Security – Central Directorate for Immigration and Border Police and the Defense Industries Agency. These boats will be used by the Libyan Coast Guard to support European operations in securing the Mediterranean waters and combatting illegal migration.
