«It is today necessary to confirm trust in the judiciary and make every common and solidary effort so that it can continue to ensure, hopefully in reasonable time, equity of judgment, guaranteeing to all citizens equality of treatment and respect for the person, in a context of desirable enhancement of the humanistic and sympathetic interpretation of the law». This is what the Mayor of Palermo, Roberto Lagalla, said in his speech at the Anm congress, taking place in Palermo, addressing his greetings to the President of the Republic, the President of the Senate, the Vice President of the Chamber, the Vice Minister of Justice. No reference was made to the presence of the President of the Sicilian Region Renato Schifani sitting in the front row.

«I therefore like to thank, in this setting, the judicial offices of the district of Palermo for the many actions that, also together with the municipal administration, are being put in place to contribute to the fight against gender violence and the overcoming of social fragilities – he added – thus meeting the needs of those who, in difficulty, await from the jurisdiction and the public administration answers capable of strengthening and legitimizing the path of legality of this city and the entire metropolitan area».
