Marisa fights against violence: Salemi mourns female victims

Another femicide, the umpteenth, with the same script as always. This time the victim is a Sicilian woman, Marisa Leo, 39 years old, an employee of Cantina Colomba Bianca. Her ex-partner Angelo Reina, 42 years old, killed her with a rifle before shooting himself with the same weapon and jumping off a viaduct on the highway. They had a troubled relationship, despite having a four-year-old daughter together. Leo had previously filed a stalking complaint against Reina in 2020. Recently, their relationship seemed to have improved, as they were seen together at a work event. However, Reina couldn’t accept the end of their story. Police investigations revealed their identities and the stalking complaint. Leo’s body was found at Reina’s family nursery, where the tragic incident took place. Leo, a marketing employee at the winery and a member of the Sicilian Women of Wine association, had been an advocate for supporting victims of violence. Her colleagues and community are devastated by the loss of a kind and hardworking person.
