Man hospitalized in Modica commits suicide, investigation opened after relatives’ complaint, three suspects.

A 54-year-old Albanian man, residing in Modica, took his own life while hospitalized in the infectious diseases department of the Maggiore-Baglieri hospital. The man’s family has filed a complaint to understand what happened on the night of November 21 in the hospital room where medical staff intervened to provide care. The prosecutor has ordered an autopsy for the next day, appointing a forensic doctor and a psychiatrist as technical consultants. The names of two nurses and a doctor are in the register of suspects. The autopsy will be performed in the morgue of the San Marco hospital in Catania, where the man’s body was transported as he was Covid positive.
