Luca Sammartino’s uncle appointed as commissioner in Bari to assess mafia infiltration
Luca Sammartino, a member of the League and vice president of the Sicilian Region who resigned after receiving the decision from the judge in Catania, is the nephew of retired prefect Claudio Sammartino, who is one of the members of the access commission appointed by the Ministry of the Interior to assess possible mafia infiltrations at the Bari Municipality. Claudio Sammartino used to be the prefect of Catania. According to the Ansa news agency, there were no regular relations between uncle and nephew, only family gatherings.
