Lipari: lives and experiences of antifascist political exiles in an app

An bilingual application (Italian and English) to make known the experiences and lives of antifascist political exiles in Lipari will be created by the Eolian Study Center, which has won the European call for proposals for the Digital Transition of Creative Cultural Organizations (TOCC).

The project and the application, called “The path of exile,” will develop in the places that have seen the presence of antifascist exiles in Lipari. The application will involve a series of stages that will lead the user to visit the environments, to relive the experiences of those who, sent far from their land by the fascist regime, lived in Lipari, in some cases for years, enduring suffering, controls, and denial of freedom but also building moments of solidarity, exchange of ideas, and reinforcement of common ideals with their colleagues.

To identify the path, ceramic tiles resistant to weather will be installed in the locations (about fifty), displaying the necessary logos to identify the project, in which QR codes will be printed. These QR codes, when scanned directly from a smartphone, will activate the application, allowing users to download it and access information and related insights.
