Licata, marijuana plantation found in a company: over 1,200 plants discovered, three people reported

Over 1200 marijuana plants with a higher concentration of THC than allowed were discovered by the carabinieri in an agricultural company in Licata. The company was supposedly involved in the cultivation of “cannabis light” in the fields of Licata. Three individuals, including a 52-year-old owner of the activity and a father-son duo from Licata, were implicated and reported by the public prosecutor’s office in Agrigento for the alleged crimes of possession and cultivation of drugs. The analysis on the marijuana plants revealed a higher THC value than permitted by law, indicating that they were growing actual illicit substances instead of legal “cannabis light.” The entire plantation was subsequently confiscated by the military forces.
