Large fire in Castellammare del Golfo, acres of forest in flames.

A large fire broke out a few hours ago and is seriously threatening the Mendola area in Castellammare del Golfo. The flames are affecting the side that is visible when exiting the Segesta tunnels, on the left when driving towards Palermo on the highway. This area is highly forested and has unfortunately experienced previous devastating fires. The Forestry department is mobilizing personnel to the fire area.
