La Russa revives naval blockade at the Sicilian event of Fratelli d’Italia.

During the Sicilian event called “Italy, the roots of beauty,” Ignazio La Russa, president of the Italian Senate, spoke about the immigration issue and the naval blockade as a possible solution. He acknowledged that the promise of a naval blockade had been a mistake, but reiterated that it could be a theoretical solution. La Russa also emphasized his continuity with the right-wing party, Fratelli d’Italia, and the importance of addressing immigration. He praised Giorgia Meloni, the party’s leader, for bringing the issue to the attention of Europe, and criticized previous governments for not addressing the problem of immigration. He defended the party’s relationship with Tunisia, comparing it to Italy’s relationship with China. Lastly, the event included Gennaro Sangiuliano, the Minister of Culture, who highlighted the success of charging entrance fees to the Pantheon, which resulted in increased revenue.
