Ivorian girl’s death in Lampedusa: Prosecutor seeks doctor’s trial

The prosecutor of Agrigento has requested the trial of Carlo Lotà, a doctor serving in Lampedusa, accused of causing the death of a 26-year-old Ivorian woman, Fatoumata Bamba, through delays and omissions. The decision on the request will be made on September 18 by the judge Micaela Raimondo. The Ivorian woman died on February 18 after being discharged from the health facility where she had been taken after landing at the Favarolo dock, due to an asthma crisis.
