Ispica, cyclist collides with a truck and crashes head-on with a car: helicopter rescue intervenes

A 40-year-old cyclist is in critical condition after being involved in a road accident on the Marina Marza coastal road in Ispica, Ragusa province. The cyclist collided with the side mirror of a truck and then with an oncoming Alfa Romeo. Due to ongoing roadwork, traffic is being directed in one direction at a time on the coastal road. Two ambulances, one with a doctor on board, arrived at the scene from Rosolini. The cyclist’s serious injuries prompted the medical team to call for helicopter rescue. He was airlifted to Cannizzaro Hospital in Catania, where he remains hospitalized. Carabinieri from the Ispica command were also present at the scene.
