Investigation underway for two thefts in bar-tobacco shops in a few hours in Agrigento province

Two similar thefts occurred in a few hours in the province of Agrigento. The first took place at the bar-tobacco shop at the Eni service area, along the state road 115, in the territory of Montallegro, and the second at the bar-tobacco shop in contrada Martusa, in Caltabellotta. The same method was used in both cases. In the first case, the gang allegedly broke down the entrance door of the tobacco shop and, after entering, took away 300 euros in coins and some cigarette cartons. In the second case, after breaking the entrance door again, they stole the cash register containing about 600 euros. The owners noticed the thefts upon reopening. The carabinieri were alerted in both cases and are carrying out investigations to identify the thieves. It is believed that the same gang was responsible for both thefts, and the carabinieri are also reviewing surveillance camera footage. Initial reconstruction suggests that the gang is made up of 4 people and used a car to move around.
