An 11-year-old girl experienced a terrifying incident when she fell several meters after a metal grate collapsed on Viale Regione Siciliana. The accident occurred near the electronics store Mediaworld. The girl fell approximately 5 meters and ended up in the space below through a 60-centimeter gap.
The mother immediately raised the alarm, and the fire department arrived to carry out the rescue operation. The girl was immobilized and safely placed on a stretcher before being transported to the hospital by medical personnel from the emergency services. Her condition is still unknown.
Investigations are currently underway to determine the cause of the incident. On July 7, a similar incident occurred on Via Ribera, near the courthouse. Once again, a metal grate on the sidewalk gave way and a man ended up in the garage below. He was also rescued, placed on a stretcher, and immediately taken to the emergency room at the Civic Hospital in Palermo.
