Husband and wife arrested in Messina with 5 kilos of cocaine
A couple was arrested by the financial police of the provincial command of Messina on charges of being drug couriers. The arrest came during checks on vehicles crossing the Strait of Messina. The husband and wife were traveling with their three minor children in a car in which 5 kilograms of cocaine were found and seized. The drug dog Urban, from the finance guard’s canine unit, alerted the authorities to the vehicle. The man driving had tried to deceive the investigators by showing them a homemade cigarette containing hashish that he had with him. Based on the investigative findings, the two spouses were arrested. The measure has already been validated by the judge and the two have been transferred to the Gazzi prison, at the disposal of the judiciary in Messina.
