Hiker falls off cliff, stranded and injured all night in rugged terrain

Briefly explain the following article:
Joint intervention of the Sicilian Alpine and Speleological Rescue and the 82nd Csar of the Italian Air Force in the Zingaro Oriented Nature Reserve to rescue a hiker who had been stuck all night in a rugged area after seriously injuring himself by falling from a cliff near Cala Berretta.

Yesterday afternoon, April 23, the 48-year-old man, originally from Salemi but residing in Santa Ninfa (Trapani), alone and without a cellphone, had fallen into the sea and sustained bruises and abrasions in various parts of his body. He had managed to make it back to shore, but due to his injuries and surprise darkness, he had been forced to lie among rocks, trying to shield himself from the cold.

This morning, another tourist hiking the trail heard his cries, reached him, found him suffering from hypothermia, and called the emergency number 112. The 118 center, as it was a medical intervention in a rugged environment, alerted the Alpine Rescue, which, to minimize the risks of a complex operation on foot given the distance from both entrances to the reserve, the condition of the injured person, and adverse weather conditions, activated the Italian Air Force, with which they have a solid collaboration. An AW139 helicopter took off from Trapani Birgi airport carrying two Sass technicians and an Air Force paramedic, who rappelled down, stabilized and harnessed the hiker, lifting him on board. Due to the seriousness of his condition, the man was transferred to Palermo Civic Hospital.
