The Italian Supreme Court, La Cassazione, has ordered that the case of Enrico Lombardo be returned to the Messina court where a judge will schedule a hearing to discuss the second request for dismissal made by the prosecution. This decision comes after a lawyer representing Lombardo’s family appealed to the Court. Lombardo died during a police arrest in October 2019. Lombardo’s wife expressed her satisfaction with the decision, stating that they are hopeful for justice to be served and thanked the associations that have supported them throughout the process.
