Giorgia Righi, Palermo PM, assigned security due to open arms threats.

After receiving a barrage of insults and social threats following the request for a sentence by the Palermo Prosecutor’s Office in the trial of Minister Matteo Salvini, accused of kidnapping and refusing to perform official duties, a security detail has been assigned to prosecutor Giorgia Righi, one of the magistrates representing the prosecution. Righi, who is also part of the Anti-Mafia Directorate, was the only one in the team who was not yet protected. The Prosecutor’s Office had requested a 6-year sentence for the leader of the League for refusing to allow the NGO Open Arms’ ship with 147 migrants on board to dock in August 2019.
