Genovese arrested in Pozzallo: accused of violently robbing elderly woman

Last Monday (September 1st), the carabinieri of the Pozzallo station arrested a 33-year-old man from Genoa, in accordance with a precautionary measure order issued by the judge for preliminary investigations of the Genoa court, at the request of the prosecutor’s office in Genoa. The man is believed to be responsible for aggravated robbery and fencing. On June 2nd, the criminal, who was already known to the police, attacked an elderly woman (89 years old) in the center of Genoa, forcefully snatching a gold necklace from her neck, causing her to fall. He was detained and found in possession of two health cards, proceeds of a previous theft. The local police managed to locate the man in Pozzallo, where he had been living with his partner for several months. The arrested man has been transferred to the Ragusa prison, as ordered by the competent judicial authority.
