Four Agrigento students stopped by police for shoplifting during school trip to Madrid

Four high school students from the province of Agrigento have gotten into trouble in Madrid after they strayed from their school group during a field trip. Once inside a cosmetics store, they committed theft and were subsequently caught by the Spanish police.

The girls, all eighteen years old, are currently in custody. They were noticed by a store clerk who saw them acting suspiciously among the shelves. The clerk then monitored them through the surveillance cameras and noticed that they had hidden some products in their jackets. The clerk sounded the alarm, and the students were searched, revealing the stolen merchandise they had intended to take without paying.

The police intervened and took the four girls to the police station. The stolen goods were recovered and returned to the store owners. This incident came as a bitter surprise to the teachers and classmates who were waiting for them to return to the hotel after a bus stop in the Spanish city. The students did not return, as they are now facing charges of aggravated theft.
