Fire in the Confiscated Land Cultivated by the Livatino-Libera Terra Cooperative: 30 Hectares Up in Smoke

A fire destroyed thirty hectares of wheat crops belonging to the “Rosario Livatino-Libera terra” cooperative in Naro, in the province of Agrigento. The cooperative had been assigned the land in 2015, which was confiscated from the mafia in 1992. The damage amounts to approximately 20,000 euros and is covered by insurance. The police are investigating the incident.
