Film festival in Tindari and historic buildings in Patti: screenings, debates, and awards.

The Italian Film Festival, with its Silver Stars, will return to provide emotions and entertainment from 2 to 6 July, in the territory of the municipality of Patti, among squares, historic buildings, and the Greek Theater of Tindari, which will host the awards ceremony and Gala evening.

Six days of screenings, meetings, debates, and masterclasses. The protagonists will be actors and directors, critics and journalists in the sector, and there will also be producers, screenwriters, and industry professionals to discuss the future of the industry. For the occasion, in the historic Palaces Galvagno and San Francesco, a collective exhibition of works by painters from around the world will be set up.

Singers, comedians, and Michelin-starred chefs will accompany the various events. Among the most anticipated is World Chocolate Day with Igino Massari and Simone Sabatini. In collaboration with the Arcangelo Corelli Conservatory of Messina, there will be eight musical spaces, mainly dedicated to young people. The memory of maestro Luttazzi will be honored for the hundred years since his birth.

In the running for the Silver Stars will be cinematographic works, feature films and shorts, documentaries from independent productions and major players in world cinema, not forgetting the traditions and values of Sicily, which has given birth to characters and talents that have made cinema history.

Cinema will also be a tool for raising awareness of ecosystem preservation. Among the projects presented there is a collaboration between Italian cinema and countries sharing the same sea, through documentaries made by Moroccan directors. There will be all-Italian campaigns addressing the climate crisis, such as the one launched by Marevivo, Marina Militare, and the Dohrn Foundation on ecological transition aboard the training ships Palinuro and Vespucci, under the high patronage of the European Parliament, the Ministry of the Environment, and the Ministry for Maritime Policies. A significant focus will be placed on culture with the presentation of Biagio Maimone’s book.

The cultural marathon will continue in the Aeolian Islands with the Malvasia Food & Wine Festival, departing on Sunday 7 July from the Gulf of Patti or the port of Capo d’Orlando. A ship will take guests, actors, producers, screenwriters, and journalists to the Aeolian Islands to introduce them to the territory until 10 July.
