Femicide in Piedmont: Agrigento husband arrested, claims “I don’t know why I killed her”
After a long interrogation lasting hours and ending in the early afternoon, ordered by deputy prosecutor Andrea Trucano, the arrest for aggravated voluntary homicide of Giovanni Salamone, 61 years old, accused of killing his wife Patrizia Russo, 53 years old, at home at dawn in Solero (Alessandria) has been ordered. Investigators are working to reconstruct the facts precisely and the man would have cooperated, providing his own version of what happened. A version from which, as emphasized by the court-appointed attorney Stefano Daffonchio, emerges a man who cannot come to terms with what he has done. There was no argument between the spouses. The husband, awake for a while, would have struck his wife – who was sleeping in the bedroom – with a kitchen knife, delivering multiple stabs in different points. The woman would therefore have had no chance to defend herself. The 61-year-old man has been incarcerated in the Alessandria prison, awaiting the validation hearing. The investigations by the carabinieri continue and the couple’s two children, who live outside the Alessandria area, and people close to Russo and Salamone will be questioned.
