Failed attempt to hide drugs in suitcase’s clothes: 45-year-old from Grammichele arrested.

In Mineo, a town in the province of Catania, Italy, a 45-year-old man was arrested by the carabinieri (Italian military police) for possession of 650 grams of marijuana and 42 grams of hashish. He is being charged with drug trafficking and illegal possession of ammunition. The man’s car was stopped at a roadblock and the police found 52 grams of marijuana hidden in the engine compartment. Another quantity of drugs and 208 undeclared .22 caliber bullets were seized during a search of his home in Grammichele. The seized drugs will be sent to a laboratory for analysis. The individual has been placed under house arrest. The operation was carried out by the carabinieri of the Mineo station, with support from their colleagues in the Sicilian Helicopter Squad Cacciatori.
