Seized money and assets, totaling 450 thousand euros, from four agricultural entrepreneurs from Agrigento who would have illegally received aid from Agea. The precautionary seizure was carried out by the Messina Carabinieri department responsible for agri-food protection, at the behest of the Agrigento GIP who had received a request from the European procurators delegated for Sicily and Calabria, whose office is based in Palermo.

Between 2015 and 2022, the suspects submitted payment requests for so-called aid rights, declaring ownership of plots of land that were partly confiscated and partly owned by Ismea (Institute of services for the agricultural food market), surreptitiously credited to their possession through fake lease contracts.
