Engineer arrested in Pandora raid suspended from regional technical commission for environmental permits
The regional councilor for the Territory, Elena Pagana, has signed the decree suspending engineer Paolo Di Loreto from the technical specialist commission for environmental authorizations (Cts) who is under house arrest in the Pandora investigation in Catania, which also involved Luca Sammartino (Lega) who resigned as vice president and councilor after being suspended from public office for one year. The judge ordered Di Loreto to be suspended from the engineering profession for one year.
In the investigation by the Carabinieri of Catania, named after phone, environmental and telematic interceptions, long-distance observation services, statements by collaborators of justice, and document acquisitions, precautionary measures were taken against 11 people and 30 guarantees were issued, including politicians, municipal officials, and entrepreneurs accused of various crimes such as political-mafia vote buying, extortion aggravated by mafia methods, aggravated corruption, instigation to corruption, and disturbance of auction freedom.
