A 40-year-old woman, drunk driving, caused a road accident near the Taormina junction. During checks, her blood alcohol level was found to be 5 times higher than the legal limit. The woman was reported by the highway police of Giardini, and her blood alcohol level was found to be 2.55g/l. She is now facing a fine of 1500 to 6000 euros and a possible 6-month to 1-year imprisonment.

The woman’s license has been revoked, and the car has been impounded. The incident occurred late yesterday evening when the vehicle violently collided with the wall of the tunnel next to the Taormina junction. The driver did not sustain any injuries.
