Course on first-level techniques of medically assisted procreation in Palermo

A theoretical-practical course on basic techniques of medically assisted procreation (PMA) was held as a platform for different healthcare professionals working in both public and private sectors in Palermo. The course took place at the Marina Convention Center in Palermo and was organized by the Level I PMA center of Andrea Biondo, the CBR at the Candela clinic in Palermo, and Giovanni Ruvolo from the Reproduction Biology Center in Palermo. Various figures such as President Vito Chiantera, the president of the medical order Toti Amato, and other specialists participated in the course. The aim of the course was to emphasize the importance of basic PMA techniques, which are less invasive and emotionally taxing compared to higher-level techniques, and can produce excellent results if applied correctly. The course was seen as an opportunity for healthcare professionals from different disciplines (gynecologists, biologists, endocrinologists, andrologists, and midwives) to come together and discuss ways to help couples facing infertility issues. Barbara Cittadini, president of AIOP Sicily, emphasized the importance of supporting couples struggling with infertility, especially as the trend of delaying childbirth continues to rise. The Rector of the University of Palermo, Massimo Midiri, also praised the course for bringing together different specializations to address the social issue of medically assisted reproduction. Vito Chiantera highlighted the significance of addressing infertility issues in Sicily and stressed the importance of dedication and seriousness in the field of medically assisted procreation. Professor Ettore Cittadini concluded by emphasizing the importance of hosting such events that allow for discussion and collaboration among professionals from various sectors on significant topics like basic PMA techniques.
