Confirmed arrests for 5 alleged members of the Poggioreale-Salaparuta clan

The Carabinieri of the Ros, supported by the military of the provincial command of Trapani, have carried out 5 custody orders following the ruling of the Court of Cassation that confirmed the legality of measures imposed by the Palermo Review Court against the suspects. The investigation, named “Elima,” began in 2017 under the coordination of the DDA of Palermo as part of efforts to capture Matteo Messina Denaro, who was arrested by the Ros on January 16th. The investigation focused on the Poggioreale-Salaparuta mafia family and their connections with other mafia families in the provinces of Trapani and Palermo. The suspects face charges of participating in a criminal organization. Several searches are currently underway in the Trapani province.
